ReplyDeletemy proudest moment.. sewing the Urban Weekender Coat from heidi and finn for my youngest girl. i'd never sewn a coat before, or even a garment with sleeves! so i was very impressed with myself because it turned out so well!

My proudest moment in the sewing room this year is that I actually gave myself a sewing room! Yep, I tidied, I threw out clutter, organised, purchased and voila room to sew!
ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment this year was finishing my LMS Birdie Stitches QAL quilt. I actually handquilted feathers and made my first quilt that is a combination of embroidery/patchwork.

ReplyDeleteWhen my thread finally stopped breaking when I was FMQ on my mid arm. That happened after only 2 hrs. of frustration. Yay!
ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment was getting hubby to do one line of stitching on a quilt - I was so happy that he showed an interest and snapped a pic - he made me swear I wouldn't show anyone, but I put it on my blog, luckily he doesn't read it!

ReplyDeleteMy proudest sewing moment this year was putting a zipper in a pouch perfectly. My friend couldn't believe I really made it. :)
My proudest moment did happen in the sewing room, but it wasn't sewing that I had done. It was a personalized paper cutting that I made for a friend who had moved and was back visiting. It's an abstraction of our neighborhood from an overhead view, and she was so appreciative of it. I still miss her though! :)

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment was finishing my first quilt! My bf was got a new job and had to move across the state so I made him a quilt as an apartment warming gift. I had started 2 other quilts, but this was the first I finished and I loved it :)

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment in the sewing room this year was when I finished the top for the Sew Intertwined QAL at Sew.Happy.Geek. It was a combination of paper piecing, applique and ordinary piecing, but really out of my comfort zone. Thanks so much for participating in Giveaway Day!
ReplyDeleteMy proudest accomplishment this year was organizing the ladies group at our church to sew a quilt that we were able to raffle at our annual Strawberry Festival! We are now working on our 2nd quilt.

ReplyDeleteWonderful give aways! Right now I'm so proud that FINALLY overcame my reluctance to handstitch bindings to my projects. LOL! In 3 days I've added bindings to 6 mug rugs, a table runner and my new quilted tree skirt. It wasn't intimidated at all. I don't know why I waited so long to try it.

After making several cute bento box bags from the FABULOUS tutorial by Ayumi from Pink Peguin, I set out to make a larger version...trial one, WAY too tall. Trial two, still too freaking tall...trial 3, too fat, trial 4, STILL out of proportion. Finally, just a few minutes ago...I got it right! Does this count as my first pattern? I'm stoked! These are awesome bags to stuff with goods for the abused woman's shelter. Reusable AND a gift bag all in one! And it's all FQ friendly too! I'm very proud right now!

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment was when I tried Maureen Cracknell's QAYG tutorial and machine quilted the blocks for the Scrappy Log Cabin Mono quilt-along.
ReplyDeleteI decided to try doing a craft fair this year and my proudest moment was being able to produce a fairly large amount of items in the time I had before the fair. I owe my hubby BIG TIME for all the time he spent with the kids so I could sew!!!

(I tried to sew clothes in the past and failed, but after this t-shirt all started to go well!)
For me it has my first ever child's dress - made for my daughter for her 2nd birthday. It isn't perfect & I am a perfectionist so I notice the little things, but it is pretty good and I have been asked if it is Pumpkin Patch (a high end children's boutique her in Australia) and I must have just beamed when I responded "No, I made it actually".

It took a year and he has been so patient considering I've made so many other people quilts, except him. The pattern was very tedious (Cherry House City Lots) but the end result is amazing.

My proudest moment as a relatively new sewist this year was when I had the time, resources, and drive to crank out 16 hurricane sandy help blocks for charity. It sort of sparked my sewing "calling" -- I'm trying to organize a Quilts of Valor group at work now!
ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment was when i found out a way to move my machine so that I could sew when I needed to. Before it was were everyone slept, so every time I could sew, I really couldnt' because people were sleeping.

The only other quilt I'd made before that was a table runner in a beginning quilt piecing class taken locally so this full size quilt in the quilt along was my first big quilt. I am so proud that I pushed myself to keep going and complete the entire quilt top.

ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway! Many thanks! My proudest moment was completing a quilt with signature blocks given to me by friends. There was a uneven number of blocks, but I was able to figure out a design to incorporate all the blocks. It's become one of my favorite quilts.

Proudest moment this year... I've made a couple quilts with my grandmother, but this year I made my first quilt entirely by myself! Made the top and back, quilted it, and hand stitched the binding.

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment is an on-going one as I am finally tackling Amy Butler's Weekender Travel bag after following The Long Weekend sew along recently. I love your Weekender bag & have learnt so much from all of the tips on flickr as well as the sew along. I'm planning on giving the bag to my daughter for Christmas. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.

ReplyDeleteThanks for such a generous giveaway! My proudest sewing moment this year was when I finished making a dress with several alterations (sway back, full bust, etc.) and it all fit!

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment was when I finished a project within only one day (I'm a really slow crafter) and that project also included my first ever zipper! It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be ;)
