My proudest moment was repairing a vintage quilt and realising that quilting wasn't that hard and that I was well and truly hooked!!

ReplyDeleteMy two friends both suffer from zipper phobia so it was great to be able to show them, with the help of your tutorial, that zippers are not scary but fun.

My proudest moment was seeing the look of sheer joy on my sons face when I handed him his own first quilt that he had designed and chosen the fabric for. All I had done was cut and sew it together.

Proudest moment, hmm...finally figuring out how to fmq on my standard sewing machine! 2nd proudest was seeing an outfit I made on a girl in our local Little Miss Pumpkin Show contest.

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment was probably when I faced one of my greatest fears and at the same time reached one of my biggest goals and made my first FMQ feathers! And I was actually so proud and happy with the outcome!

Doing a block of the month and learning lots of new techniques.
ReplyDeleteI guess my proudest moment was when I finished my first sew in frame coin purse for a blog hop. I wasn't sure I could actually make one but I did, and it was a success. I made a dozen more and was just as proud of those!

Actually this week I finished up a quilt from a class this summer that had a lot of hand sewing techniques. It took so many hours I can't even believe it, but I just washed it and dried it and I'm so proud of myself!

ReplyDeleteI don't really have a proud sewing moment this year. It has been a really tough year for me and I have barely kept my head above water. I think I am finally coming out of the tunnel. However, last year I made my daughter in love a beautiful purse that people thought was a Vera and I made my daughter a beautiful pieced tote with a matching purse and accessories. I hope to get back to that kind of thing this coming year.

ReplyDeleteEasy. Starting and finishing a Feliz dress. Now that I've done it, I'd do it all over again. But the entire experience was a little bit of a white knuckle experience !
ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment this year was finally getting the 4 block sections to the Anna Maria Horner Love Emblem quilt I am working on to lie flat and fit together. It's the first time I've made a quilt using templates, and at 225% at that, so no minor amount of tears were involved. I finally conquered by ironing every block onto freezer paper to keep them flat and stable, trimming them uniform, and sewing them together with the freezer paper still on. I'm even adding the borders while the freezer paper is on, just in case. Good thing the quilt is for someone I love very much ;)

My proudest moment was starting to actually sew a quilt top that I had cut out over a year ago! Was pleased with myself for taking the plunge despite being worried I would 'ruin' the fabric!

Proudest moment was finishing the hand appliqued Dresden Plate I made for my nephew as a wedding gift - then attending the wedding in your hometown of Seattle. Beautiful place. Almost as pretty as the great plains of my own Oklahoma.

I had my sixth child this year, so my sewing time is very limited, but I did sew 15 quilted zipper pouches. They turned out quite nice.
