A Cross Block Zip

Yes, quilts are my main gig, but I do love the random small project. So when I saw the Cross Blocks Zipper Pouch tutorial by Sandra Clemons over on Sew, Mama, Sew, I added it to my to-do list. And it happened to be the only thing I totally finished on a recent quilting retreat.

The most fun, other than working with those fabrics (Essex yarn-dyed linen and Zen Chic Reel Time), was making those little crosses. The contrasting wrist-strap matched the lining, purchased at a new-to-me modern quilt shop, Needle in a Fabric Stash, that I visited on retreat with my quilting buddies. What a great shop! If you're anywhere near Temecula, CA, you should check it out!

Anyway, the pouch was an enjoyable little foray. Now back to work on those larger projects that are in the works!

Linking up with Finish It Up Friday!

  4. One can never have too many pouches, and this looks great. Thanks for the link! Knew you would have a great time at retreat. How can any quilter/sewist not enjoy a few days of non-stop sewing?!

  5. Sometimes other things are more important at a quilt retreat than sewing ;) This pouch is great - I could just steal it...
