Also strawberries, asparagus, cherries and nuts of all kinds are grown up and down the valley here. Gosh I'm getting hungry! There is a great cookbook called Local Flavors by Deborah Madison. She lists Farmers Markets all over the U.S. and recipes for the produce sold from them. Really good!Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15467650220067047943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5703345404636516654.post-10926710562257270702012-02-21T16:00:58.343-08:002012-02-21T16:00:58.343-08:00I haven't been to Pike's Place in a couple...I haven't been to Pike's Place in a couple of years. You make me long to go! Maybe I'll have to talk hubby into it this weekend, we always have so much fun just browsing around up there.Samanthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06783841817844988520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5703345404636516654.post-84826386532821667502012-02-21T13:20:07.889-08:002012-02-21T13:20:07.889-08:00Oh, that looks so fun! Lots of watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, and peaches are grown around here. Oh, and there are a couple huge asparagus fields just down the road.Tonihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11191281100632912351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5703345404636516654.post-13330682303733626932012-02-21T12:02:22.828-08:002012-02-21T12:02:22.828-08:00Oh yummy! There's whisky, and shortbread and cheese of all sorts. There's venison, and some fabulous meat at the farmers marketsKaty Cameronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04374079358515448439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5703345404636516654.post-39646868635010412622012-02-21T09:38:24.965-08:002012-02-21T09:38:24.965-08:00OOOh, I love that tomato soup recipe. Over on the other side, we had Greenbluff Farms - a huge cooperative of farms and orchards. We were up there almost every weekend picking our own fruits and veggies. Here in Oklahoma, there's cows. Some local dairies and beef. But nothing like those wonderful Washington apples.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15494557452802595536noreply@blogger.com
