We Have {Giveaway Day} Winners!

Well THAT was fun! Giveaway Day is now over, and it's time to announce some winners!

230 commenters responded to the question, "Where do you find the biggest inspiration online?" The usual suspects - blogs and Pinterest - being mentioned most often. The winner of my "Canvas"-inspired pincushion is #90. Linda said: "I'm trying to limit the number of blogs I'm following but I find I start reading one and then follow the links on whatever interests me. Sew Mam Sew is my favorite - there's always something interesting/informative going on there." How fun is that? I think we all can relate.
From now until May 24, purchase the "Canvas" pattern on Etsy or Craftsy at 50% off.
For the Etsy version, use coupon code CANVAS50. Both shops are under 'she can quilt'.

I have all sorts of links to peruse to search out your favorite sources of online inspiration! Thanks for sharing those - all 567 of you!
#71 wins some Pearl Bracelets and that is Wens/Wendy of Wendy World! Wens commented, "Ooh pearl bracelets, so awesome! I love Pile o fabrics youtube video tutorials! But I watch many! Need all the help I can get- ha! Cheers for the chance :)"

Congrats to Linda and Wendy! And thanks to all of you for the fun!

An {herbal} Table Winner!

 A Quilter’s Table
I don't know about you, but I've really enjoyed The Table this summer. I have tried oodles of new recipes,  made a couple of kitcheny projects, and had my first guest-poster! It's added to the fun to have you join in on the {summer}, {picnic}, and {herbal} themes! Thank you!

With the monthly focuses have been monthly link parties, and from what I hear, you've liked that. So I think we'll continue into fall with having one linky on the first Tuesday of each month, and just link back to that each following week. I'm thinking we'll let September be all random, and if you clamour for more monthly themes, I can certainly consider that - so let me know ok?

Meanwhile, we have a random winner for Tuesday at the {herbal} Table!
And that would be Allison of Dreaming in Patchwork! A relative newcomer to Tuesday at the Table, she shared this month about her family's recent outing to the Farmer's Market. Thanks, Allison - I'll be emailing you about the prize you've won. Thanks again to the donors of this month's great prizes -

And being the number person that I am, I was curious about The Table's summer stats, so for those who are like-minded ~ 40 different people linked up to The Table, with a total of 93 link-ups. And the person who linked up the most was Kirsten of Gemini Stitches (8 times!). Kirsten and I have traded U.S.-only and Australia-only DS fabric a few times, and I certainly hope she can use the extra little prize I have for her . . . a $25 gift certificate to Sew Fresh Fabrics!

Thanks to all of you for joining me around The Table! It's been good.

Giveaway Day Winner!

Congrats to Sarah of narcoleptic in a cupboard who was #42 of 560(!) commenters on my Giveaway Day post!
Sarah had this to say about the new technique she'd like to add to her quilting repertoire:
I'm sending you an email, Sarah, so I can get the stack of Summerville fat-eighths in the mail to you!

Thanks to all you visitors, and a special welcome to my new followers! I look forward to sharing our journey of quilting & sharing around the table.

Improv Winner!

Oh I love it when the win on one of my giveaways makes me laugh out loud! And the winner of Quilting Modern, chosen by is:
#47 ~ Amy of Amy Made That! who I just 'met' last week when we did a little swap - my stamped linen for her key fobs, one of which I wore around my wrist half the day at work today, thank you very much! Well congrats to Amy! (Of course, I seem to have already deleted your address, so email me & I'll get the book out to you!)

Thank you all for playing along - there's so much y'all want to learn and do - truly inspiring! And do consider picking up a copy of Katie and Jacquie's book. I have no doubt you'll be inspired by it!

And for those of you who are now saying to yourselves, "darn, I didn't win," may I at least leave you with the mini quilt top I whipped up yesterday.
A super scrappy Swoon-ish sort of block, using every last DS pink I had (thanks, Kirsten!). I made a half-hearted promise way back when that I was done with my Swoon phase. Good thing I added {maybe}!

Random on Monday

Well I didn't realize until late Saturday that it was National Quilting Day! There was no sewing done, but unknowingly I spent the afternoon celebrating in the best possible way - teaching a newbie about quilting! I had loaned her my copy of The Practical Guide to Patchwork, and she had picked out a pattern to try, and came, fabric in hand. So I showed her about cutting, stitching, pressing, and we talked all things quilty. Very cool.

Also cool has been my winning streak of late! As if it wasn't enough to garner a win in the Modern Mini Challenge {here}, I was pleased to win some "Meet the Gang" charms in  Kate's 50 follower giveaway on her blog, Katie Mae Quilts; and a "Brrr!" fq pack from Jessica over at Twin Fibers. Love all that fabric! Thanks Kate and Jessica!

Last night, I was able to wrap up the last of my 4x5 "Three Wishes" blocks - yay!
Just for fun, here they are all together, including my 'sample' block in the bottom right corner.
It's really been fun working with this block and trying all the varied palettes! (Pattern by Jamie Moilanen from "99 Modern Blocks")

Lastly, for those of you who were interested in the Little Quilt - Sew, Vote, Swap group, it's opened up for Round 4. Here are the rules if you want to check them out.

Happy Monday!

52 lists in 52 weeks//week 37 and A Winner

I've seen lists like these around blog-land, so I was kind of excited to see this week's list assignment.

listening: morning silence
eating: too early, but soon - a glass of V8 & some fresh mozzarella
drinking: double sugar-free vanilla nonfat latte in my "Good Morning" mug
wearing: my slippers & jammies & my granny's flannel jacket
feeling: sleepy but waking up
weather: dark & chilly 38-degrees
wanting: a slow morning at home
needing: to go get ready for work
thinking: thankful
enjoying: reading quilty blogs

A change in focus - I just read through the link-ups to yesterday's Tuesday at the Table post, enjoying the treats and projects, and touched by the stories . . . I have randomly chosen a winner:
And it's Hueisei of Love is Sew it! She lives in Malaysia(!) and created this fun little mug rug for her husband for Valentine's Day!
Congratulations, Hueisei! I'll go order your gift certificate, which will come to you via email!

Thank you all for linking up and celebrating the day with me! I hope you'll consider linking up again soon and sharing from your table!

Something's Fishy and A Winner

Within moments of each other I opened several different applications tonight, and found {very} conflicting data.

Exhibit #1: What tipped me off was that the flickr widget on my blog has been alternating 'explore' numbers. This is what it looks like right this minute. (6, right?)
Exhibit #2: For some reason, it had been fluctuating since Tangerisk hit explore last week. So I decided to check out flickr-explorer again, and found this! (9 pics, right?)
Exhibit #3: On I went to see what a Scout poster would look like from bighugelabs, and I found this!! (8 pics, right? But it shows my two latest blocks, no Tangerisk, and only one Supernova!)
Please tell me you see the discrepancies here! I count 11 different 'explored' pics overall, but nowhere are they all together. Has anyone else run into this or have any explanation for it?? Just weird, IMHO.

Enough of that - it's time to choose a winner of my One Year give-away.
You are not going to believe this. I can honestly hardly believe it myself.  With hubby as my witness, Susan of The History Quilter, you are #36 and the winner. Susan commented . . .

SusanFeb 2, 2012 05:32 AM
Congratulations again on your 1st year of blogging. You are one of my go-to blogs when I have a chance to read and now every Monday evening is a dinner made with the intent on entering into Tuesday at the Table. Although I have not embarked on it yet, my newest quilting adventure will be learning how to free motion quilt during two classes I will be taking later on this month. So excited to branch out and try new things! Again, Happy Anniversary! :)
Susan has been one of my biggest supporters, and for sure, the main encourager behind Tuesday at the Table. She introduced me to quilting podcasts (check hers out here), and though a busy mom, wife, quilter, and student(!), has become a regular follower and a special friend. I'm pleased as can be that she is the winner of my One Year give-away.

Thank you all for the affirmation and friendship expressed in your comments. I am feeling blessed to be on this journey together.

52 lists in 52 weeks//week 35 and Another Star

When Kellie at get the words out posted her list for this week, I kinda went, "Oh no." Our list assignment is "People I would love to meet." Honestly, I don't know who most of the people on her list are! {so oblivious} Anyway, I'm not really into meeting famous people. I like the idea, but when I've had the chance, I've gotten all nervous and tongue-tied. (Of course, the most famous people I've met are Alton Brown, the Pioneer Woman, and Rick Steves, plus a handful of Seattle chefs.) Anyway, my list is short, and in alphabetical order - Heather, Leanne, Lindsey, Marci, Nicole, Susan, and Toni. There are others, but meeting those women would be a pretty big deal.

The Solstice Star Series by Faith of Fresh Lemon Quilts has been really enjoyable, and I make block #3 last night, again with my DS blues and greens.
Here's my first three blocks all together . . .

And just a reminder - today's the last chance to comment on my One Year post and enter the give-away for some of Malka Dubrasky's new fabric. You can find the post here. I'll be back tonight to choose the winner!

A Basted Star and Two Winners

With Thanksgiving Thursday and out-of-town family arriving yesterday, there hasn't been much time in the sewing room. But I did manage to baste up my Snow-Kissed Star, so hope to get quilting on it in the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, it's time to choose two winners for the Tuesday at the {Thanksgiving} Table giveaway! Letting the random number generator do the work, the winners are:
The first winner is #15 - Jamie Lee of busy bee quilts, who linked up her fun zig-zag Thanksgiving table runner (complete with tutorial!).
And the second winner is #4 - Kate of Katie Mae Quilts, who linked up her Grinch quilt top along with her mom's recipe for sweet potatoes!

Congratulations to you both!! Email me your addresses, and I will get the solid fat-quarter packs in the mail to you on Monday. Your gift certificate from Pink Chalk Fabrics will come straight from shop owner, Kathy Mack. So expect to see that in your email in the next few days.

Thank you again to all of you who joined me around the table. It was great fun!
