After nearly three decades(!) in the work-force, this morning I will go to my own office . . . down a long hall . . . away from the center of activity. It will be a major transition for me and for my co-workers, as well as for the people we serve. It kind of takes my breath away.
To mark the occasion (and calm me somewhat), I stitched up a wonky cross quilt to hang in my new workspace.
I used this tutorial from Sew, Mama, Sew, creating both 6" and 12" (finished) blocks.
I've loved working with these fabrics and colors! You may notice a strong resemblance to another recent finish {here}, as far as palette and quilting go.
I used light gray thread to quilt organic wavy lines vertically across the blocks, then went back and added some random dark gray lines. I really like the interest that added.
And so, with a new quilt to add that personal touch . . . well, it's off to work I go!

Bold and beautiful. Fitting for this time of the year---looking towards the Cross and Resurrection. The gray of the cross and the anticipation of yellow sunrise. May it bring you joy in your new office!
