ReplyDeleteI felt pretty proud this past year when I finally quilted my first quilt at home. :) It's still not my favorite part of the process, but it felt good to finish it myself. Thanks for the chance!

That is an excellent question and one that is hard for me to answer. I guess being inspired to make Shattered and then having it so widely loved might be my proudest this year. Lovely giveaway!
ReplyDeleteProud moment wasn't for myself - I was proud of my husband, he is hand quilting his own quilt! He is doing a great job too!

ReplyDeleteI did my first block of the month with In Color Order and I must say it was really a great way to pace myself and who doesn't love actually having a finished project at the end :)

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment would have to be when I finished my first (ever) quilt. I actually make a pair of Cat in the Hat quilts for my 1 yr old and 2 yr old. I had such a sense of accomplishment finally biting the bullet and taking the quilting journey. Now I can say, I'm a total quilting addict...having tons of projects on the horizon and several WIPs just waiting to be FOs!

He showed me what he's done and it was a picture of me on my sewing machine with the title "I'm thankful for when my mom is sewing" Can't be prouder than that!

ReplyDeleteThe project that I am most proud of this year was the first quilt that I quilted with free motion. I had done practice ones, but not anything I cared about how it turned out. ReplyDeleteI started the quilt along with Pile O Fabric to do the Groove quilt. I got behind but I finally finished it. It Is awesome and I made the queen size so it is huge. But my curves are pretty good. Not perfect but then, only God is perfect so I am good with that.

I have had a couple of proud sewing moments, but my most proud moment this year was my 7-year-old daughter telling me that she shared our family's beliefs about voting with her friends at school - she is a brave and faithful girl and it made me so proud.

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment in my sewing room was when I finished a throw quilt for my Mom. I just started quilting this year, and after years and years of my Mom making me afghans, I was able to make her a blanket back. It was full of pink fabrics, her favorite color.
ReplyDeleteI have two proud moments. I just started quilting 18 months ago and before that it had been years since I had touched a sewing machine. Last month I made my dad a Christmas tree quilt wiht his grandson's names on each ornament. I hand-stitched those ornaments and they turned out pretty good so that was one moment. The second was yesterday afternoon when I made a scarf out of voile and light flannel. I've only sewn on quilting cotton for the last 18 months and I just wasn't sure how the other fabrics would be to work with and they were great! Love the scarf!

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment was just recently. My youngest son broke his collarbone and asked me if I could replace his boring blue sling. He gave me a hug and kiss and told me I was the best when I completed his cool Minnesota Vikings sling. It sure did make it less embarrassing at school.

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment was putting a hexigon quilt together I'd hand-pieced each hexagon using nottinghill range of fabrics and templates and many pieces for each one. Took me 12 months to make. Just need to quilt it.

I love helping others and I was so worried that I would mess up, but after a couple of tries I was able to make the blocks properly and piece them properly. My proudest sewing moment this year was finishing my first ever quilt! I made it for my son who is 3 and I'm so excited to give it to him for Christmas!

ReplyDeleteMy proudest moment in the sewing room was in March of this year. You see, my sewing room was all packed up when I moved from Michigan to New Hampshire. In March, a room in my basement was re-done to house my sewing room! It was like being back among old friends. I haven't stopped sewing since!
