- I'm working on another improvisational quilt in preparation for my Everyday Improv workshop with Seattle MQG later this week....
- The newest issue of Curated Quilts is shipping and I'm looking forward to seeing the article by Stephanie Ruyle and Leanne Chahley, leaders of the Bee Sewcial improv bee. Plus I have a little something in its pages as well. If you aren't already a subscriber, rush over to enter the giveaway for a subscription for you and a friend!
- "Sharing what I love about the process of improvisation. Discovering how and what other artists love about it. Sharing stories and methods that others may find useful." That's how Jen Broemel describes her new project, The Art of Improv. Learn more about Jen in a recent interview from Leland Ave Studios' The Creativity Project.
- To add to all that, I see on Instagram that October is Improvisation month over at @52quilters where Lisa/@sewwhatyoulove is hosting this week and asking folks to share their favorite improv makers. I'm sure you'll discover some new makers to follow!
I have been enjoying seeing your progress on the improvisational quilt via IG and again here; I felt joy coming through the images as you shared your work!
ReplyDeleteI would love to attend your workshop, if only it wasn’t quite so far away from me. Thank you for all the links, I loved reading the interview by Jen.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt, and that quilting is amazing! That light blue is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's been nice to see your progress images on IG. I didn't catch up with those until recently, but do like seeing the steps along the way. The quilting is just amazing too. I also enjoyed reading the post by Jen on improv. I'm still a bit gun shy on true improv. My improv is mostly on the design wall arranging colors but still with a set block. Thanks for sharing Jen's link and my series in your newsletter.
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the info, I'll have fun looking through it.
This is a quiet beauty Debbie!
