When Summer Runs Into Fall

It's been exactly two months since I stitched up the last road trip block for my Summer Sampler. And then.... the blocks just sat. It wasn't fair to them at all, as I so enjoyed making every one of them.

Then finally, avoiding another project, I dug into making the filler blocks. Using Kona Titanium, Pewter, Iron, Silver, Shadow, I followed the original Summer Sampler plan for Hourglass blocks.

So now the top is done - all 72" x 72" of it. And what comes next is anyone's guess....

  1. Those neutral hour glass blocks are perfect, visually interesting but not distracting from the others. You have such a flair for that balance.

  2. This is a beautiful and striking top! I really love how the grey filler blocks allow the pieced blocks to really pop.

  4. Debbie this quilt top is so pretty . . . The design would go with a modern look, but I can also see it in a cabin, lake or native American styled home. You do such lovely work :)
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. It looks terrific. My top is together and I've made the call to the longarmer. I extended my borders to make a 96x96 size as a friend of mine wanted it and wanted it larger. You make me feel better about not having it out the door already. lol
