W.i.P. Wednesday

Since last W.i.P. Wednesday, it's pretty much been all about bee blocks!

Completed projects
Modern Blocks Bee blocks, 4x5 modern Quilt Bee blocks, and do.Good Stitches Faith Circle blocks for March - done! See here and here. Whew! Good to have those all done and mailed, though I enjoyed making them very much!

Ongoing projects
Scrappy Depression Blocks - I feel like I really need to get this one done - yes, for the Finish-A-Long, but really, because I just need to move on. What passion I had for this one is gone. sigh But! I did comple several more blocks - 10 done, 6 to go. Unfortunately I have no idea where to go with them once the blocks are done - sashing or no? borders or no? All TBD.

Windows Improv table runner - Finally getting to this runner that's been on my list for a while. I'm using Malka Dubrawsky's pattern, which I made in solids months ago and really loved. This one's for my cousin, and when she said she liked contemporary, geometric patterns, this one came to mind. So we'll see how I like it as I get further along.

Upcoming projects
* tutorial for pieced binding NEW
* scrappy Metrolink
a zip pouch w/o zipper tabs - want to know this way too
* a quilt to coordinate with my Christmas tree skirt - On a Whim ??
Hopscotch
* Little Quilt - Sew, Vote, Swap Group Round 4 project NEW
* DS Quilts Doll Quilt Swap project NEW

  1. Err you could send the blocks to me ;-). Great blocks as usual.

I feel the same apathy about my NYB blocks although I have only made 3 of them.

  2. Well, even if you are sick of them, the scrappy blocks look great! At least you are getting them out of your way!

  3. these look great, first I would have said sashing, but looking at them now I love the secondary pattern they create in the white, so I'm voting NO sashing. maybe a scrappy border, whatever size your squares are, do a row or two of those, maybe with a white border too?

  4. Your scrappy depression blocks are so pretty!
Maybe you could add some sashing, some wide borders, and then call it done!

  5. You can do it- only 6 more! Don't you hate when you run out of steam in the middle of the project, but know you really should finish it?! Well, they look lovely and whichever way you choose to put them together it will look great!

  9. I have too many projects that turn into something besides a quilt because I burn out. But your blocks are just too beautiful!

  13. I'm not a lover of sashing and borders so I have a hard time recommending it, but I think with those depression blocks a skinny sashing might be in order. Just to set off those lovely blocks a bit more?

  15. Your scrappy depression blocks look great, maybe you need a break from them and then come back to it.
I have had some projects like this, I hate it while I am working on it, but once it is done it looks wonderful and we become friends again.
    Good luck!

  18. I absolutely love your scrappy depression blocks. They look wonderful as is, no sashing, but is there one color you'd like to see more of? that can sometimes change my mind.

  19. The blocks look great, but when your enthusiasm goes, it's hard to get excited :o/ Maybe put it aside, take a breather to make things you REALLY want to do, then come back to it?

  20. I totally get the idea of falling out of love with an idea. Having said that, I do love your blocks! I'd go no sashing - the white around them is enough IMO.

  21. Love those depression blocks. You're almost there! Keep going! I don't think they need sashing because of the high contrast with the background. I could go either way with the borders. Hang in there. It's going to be a beauty.
