I'm Debbie - a wife, a mom to two young adults, a mother-in-law (times two!), a grammy, and a daughter. These folks are my center.
My grandma taught me to sew when I was a preteen. My parents bought me an Elna sewing machine for my 21st birthday, which I proceeded to sew on for the next 30 years. It's still my back up machine. My interest in quilting arose when my mother-in-law gifted hubby and I with a vintage quilt top her aunt had made. It needed made into a quilt, so I needed to learn how. I took my first quilting class about 25 years ago. I machine-pieced and hand-quilted for years before discovering the modern quilt movement in 2009. Now I almost exclusively machine piece and quilt. I currently sew on a JUKI TL-2010Q.
I'm a foodie. I love to read about it, shop for it, go out to eat it, and cook and bake it. I worked for nearly a decade as a pastry chef in a local bakery. At the time, it was a dream come true. Most Tuesdays you'll find the Tuesday at the Table feature here at AQT - sometimes recipes, sometimes food-talk, but always some sharing from around the table.
