What fabric was in question though, and I hadn't really given it much thought yet when I happened upon a favorite Zen Chic print from Modern Background - Paper, and the decision was made.
So the borders are on, bringing the quilt to 51" x 65", and now I'm working on the applique. There are a dozen pieces to be added - ranging from 1/2" x 1 1/2" to 2" x 20", including one very oddly-shaped, which I've already successfully sewn on. yay.
So as I stitch on the remaining bits, I'm mulling over what kind of quilting I might want to do. Suggestions welcome!
Your quilt top is awesome! I love your choice of the Zen Chic for the borders, its perfect! I just bought the pattern and I am anxious to get going on it.
ReplyDeletevery cool! I like your border choice very much. I'm sure whatever quilting you do will be great.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful and calm piece, borders are totally at home.
ReplyDeleteSo how big did the border bring the quilt top up to? I think the borders help define the intricacy of the piecing. I definitely look forward to seeing more as you finish this project. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pattern and I love the soft colours. The quilt will become stunning!
ReplyDeleteBravo for sticking to this and creating a very beautiful quilt. I admit I have the pattern and was planning to do the quilt along but stopped short after taking out the pattern and drawing out my first template freezer paper paper where the lines were not straight on the pattern. I was going to improv but sort of packed all back together and set it aside for another time. Yours is so lovely it almost makes me want to give it a go now...almost. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's coming along nicely...I agree it will be stunning when completed! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out gorgeous! The borders work great for the center. And I especially love the way its off-set. Quilting...I am no help in that department! Sorry!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I was debating cutting into my blocks and sewing in the applique. For some of the bigger strips... Not sure yet.
ReplyDeleteI just love how this looks with the new borders - and your fabric choice is just perfect. I can't wait to see how you decide to quilt it.
ReplyDeleteThis is looking amazing! I completely agree with you on borders. Sometimes I try asymmetrical borders to expand a quilt. And applique also! Wow!
