I'm not going to make a plan.
Yes, there are a few quilts I totally want to finish, and I'll list those in my 2017 Q1 FAL list. And yes, there are some 'maybe' projects on my ongoing OneNote app list, but they are truly maybes. What I really have in mind for this year is to take it as it comes. To leave plenty of time to sew on a whim, and see where it takes me.
I have a few commitments I'll keep over from last year, but they are ones that I know feed me in the way I need to be fed:
- being active in the Seattle MQG and co-chairing the Giving Committee
- leading and participating in Faith Circle of do.Good Stitches
- participating and exploring with Bee Sewcial
Other than that, let's see what happens. And maybe you'd call that a plan. But a minimal one at that.
I like your plan. it fits with my word of the year. be present. see what comes! I know whatever you do will be amazing.
ReplyDeleteThose are my plans as well.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Or, as I tell my friends, "I plan to be spontaneous." Hope your plan for 2017 is filled with unexpected delights.
ReplyDeleteI like your plan.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great start to the New Year.
ReplyDeleteI love it. This is my plan as well. I thought about posting a long post about what I want to accomplish this year but I didn't. I know what I'd like to get done and I will or I won't. I'm not going to beat myself up.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect plan to me!
ReplyDeleteSometimes no plan is the best plan! That keeps your mind fresh and pressure off! Good plan that is!
ReplyDeleteInstead of a plan, it's an approach. Or an attitude. Good luck, and have fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Debbie! Your plan is the best plan - I join you! x Teje
ReplyDeleteI love your plan! I decided to keep my plans/goals pretty vague this year as well - other than sewing my stash and using up my scraps, I plan to take projects as they come. Here's to a relaxed and fun 2017!!
ReplyDeleteI love the phrase sewing on a whim! I think this free format, go with the flow for those who sew for pleasure is definitely my preferred way.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I too have many quilts I want to make, but I will take it all one step/stitch at a time :)! Happy New Year, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Jan. 1st is just another day...not intended to cause us all stress.
ReplyDeleteLove your "no plan" plan :). So looking forward to see where it takes you, I'm sure it will be a fun ride.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of what I "plan" things have a way of just taking it as it comes. :D
ReplyDeleteThe last year or so I've completely enjoyed being plan-less. So much less stressful and allows me to work on what's important to me at that time in life. Hope you enjoy your year :o)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a really good plan!
ReplyDeleteI like this plan! Given the opportunity I would much rather make something when I 'feel' it! I nevder really follow a scheduled plan anyway!
ReplyDeleteThis kind of plan leaves one open to all kinds of interesting possibilities. I love it.
ReplyDeleteSounds great, although when I do that I always end up with more WIPs and UFOs, so I have a loose plan. It does sound like stress free sewing though.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds, no plan and no resolutions either for the New Year!!
