and a stocking. Both were really fun to piece and quilt, and now I'm in the finishing stages.
This thing about holiday sewing - even though it's hectic - is I'm spending time at my machine, and that's a good thing. It kinda balances out all the busyness of the season for me; and well, gifting handmade is pretty satisfying. So what about you? Doing any holiday sewing? If so, whatcha makin'?
I love the tabs to create the tree trunks for the pillow. Looks very tactile! I hope you enjoy the final stitches on these projects. :)
ReplyDeleteI wanted to comment on the tabs, too. They add a textural element.
ReplyDeleteLove both of your frantic projects! I don't sew/quilt gifts just something I'd want for myself. No hectic sewing for me!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI saw your trees on IG and thought they were so adorable. That floppy tab for the trunk is a fun touch! I'm not a 'holiday theme' quilter and rarely get the urge to try! But I have been thinking new stockings for us would be a good thing!
ReplyDeleteNo, I am not sewing anything for my gifts this year. But a friend asked for a mini baby quilt (commission?). Of course it would be great if I could finish this before Christmas, but I haven't even started… so we will see. Have fun with your projects!
ReplyDeleteI've made quite a few things for Christmas, mostly for my grandkids! A quilt, jumper, play purse, checkers board, and some fun stars for all my sisters-in-law. I finished most early, but the quilted stars I just finished last week! Keep on stitching!
ReplyDeleteI missed this earlier. I love it! I made a stocking for an addition to our family. It was a slice of crazy since it only became clear it was needed at Thanksgiving and I was trying to create a pattern from thin air to match the existing set made by someone else. But it was well received.
