#iheartyousewalong! I'm so glad that I chose to use Lindsey/Pen + Paper Designs' Patchwork Pattern Hack and used up some fun scraps.
Is it just me, or is 'random placement' hard to achieve? I totally thought I was being all scrappy, but just look at the six blocks below. What stands out to me are all those polka dots in the bottom row! How did that happen?!
Whatever, the blocks are done, and I'll be working on sewing the sashing and borders this next week. Now there are a couple of words I don't use often! But they suit this little quilt.
Be sure and check out the #iheartyousewalong hashtag. As much as I love mine, there are so so many great fabric combos. I really think Meghan/Then Came June and Lindsey/Pen + Paper Designs have a winner with this sweet pattern!

These are so cute and I just love that grey dot for the background. :D
ReplyDeleteI always get miffed when my "random" playlist plays the same song twice (or horror, three!) times in a row. But that's just as random as keeping things perfectly spaced apart. At least, that's what I remind myself when I try to position everything just so in a quilt top.
ReplyDeletevery sweet indeed! I love your blocks
ReplyDeleteTotally agree that this is a great pattern. With the scrappy heart block and the speech balloons this is sweet and cool all at the same time! Boy do I wish that was a description of me :-). Love the way your blocks are coming together and I'm following the hashtag avidly waiting to see the finishes! Definitely on my list!
ReplyDeleteLove these blocks with the cute patchwork hearts! I too have finally bought and downloaded this pattern. Too cute to pass up on :)!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks have been my favorite ones throughout this sew-along! I think the scrappy hearts are visually much more interesting.
ReplyDeleteI really like the fabric placement and would not have noticed all the polka dots if you hadn't pointed it all. From one Seattle girl to another - good job!
ReplyDeleteCan I just say these are very cute blocks? (And those are words I don't often use on your quilts!) I've seen these all around, and really like your scrappy version a lot. Funny about the polka dots, but I think they all look great.
ReplyDeleteGreat piecing and colors to brighten up winter!
ReplyDeleteI am loving these blocks so much! And I hear ya about random placement - it really isn’t as easy as it would seem. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, the pattern is a winner - but so are your blocks :) xo
