Scrappy QAYG

When I saw Svetlana/sotakhandmade post her quilt-as-you-go tutorial last week, I was reminded how fun qayg can be. But when I saw her qayg pouch tutorial (with metal zippers!) the next day, I knew I had to give it a go. And with the need for a couple of handmade gifts, it was perfect timing.



My pouches are both about 8 1/2" tall X 10" wide, so they are generously sized. Plus what a terrific use of my scraps and a fun diversion from those bigger projects waiting patiently on the sidelines.

    Love both the blue and green one! The yellow zip is a great feature on the blue one too!I l have been going through my scraps this week too! It's fun finding little bits that have long been forgotten!

    Love those pouches with their metal zips - must give that tute a go! Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday. Hmmm wonder if I could cut up one of hubby's old suits for a manly pouch with metal zip - would he notice?

    I like the angles you used in the piecing, they give a lot of interest. I agree, it's a fun way of whittling the scrap pile!
