To add to the fun, I pulled over the scrap basket and started pulling another random palette together. All the peaches and pinks and oranges, just a purple or two, and a pair of 'pickles'. It all seemed a little off, but then again, I kinda liked it. ALOT.
So I'm still at it, probably not for long, as my 'long enough' scraps in these colors have been used up, and I need to pull from stash to continue. Now I'm debating whether to keep going for a bit and then 'just' square it up or float it on one fabric as a background. Whatcha think? (no promises, ha!)
I was going to ask what next with this! I could see this turning into a really interesting bag or pouch.
ReplyDeleteMake several in varying sizes/colours and then add them to a background.
ReplyDeletethis is really lovely--I like how the colors work together...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI love all of these ring layers. The block would look great on a bag or floated on a lot of negative space on a quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so fabulous. I'm not sure what I would do with it, but I look forward to seeing what you decide to do.
ReplyDeleteIt would look lovely placed on a background piece as a beautiful rose. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and also the "pickles you added in. Another great improv technique shown. I have no idea how to finish it but hope you listen to what makes you happy :) xo Melanie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours! It might be a shame to square it up so I vote floating!
ReplyDeleteit's really stunning. I think I'd float it too....
ReplyDeleteI think by now you already know what your going to do with it! I'm a bit late to this post. Whatever you decide it'll be amazing. It looks like so much fun and the colors are gorgeous together!
ReplyDeleteI would make more and then try to figure out how to connect them along with some background. You could also play with other colors to add more interest.
ReplyDeleteI made one similar to this in shades of blue and gold, squaring each one to 12" and then sewing them together into a quilt for the bed. I love how it turned out, and have had many compliments on the quilt. Your rosy shades with the pickle sliver are unique and beautiful. They might make a lovely table runner. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colorwork!
