All the Fine Lines

Marking the moment when all my Bee Sewcial blocks have arrived and they are up on the design wall!

Bottom row: Marci, M-R, M-R

You might remember that my prompt for them was 'Fine-Line Piecing,' and if you want to try the technique for yourself, I provided a tutorial of sorts. Loving the varied blues and golds, and all the lines make your eyes dart everywhere, don't they? Now the hard part.... mulling over a possible layout and construction. Stay tuned!

  1. Holy toledo! That will be smashing! My husband and I are coming to Seattle (leaving on a cruise from Seattle) next month. Do you have a recommendation for dinner near Pike's Place?

  4. I am sure I say the same thing every time I comment on your blog posts, but these blocks are my favorite! Those fine lines are remarkable, and are very effective at getting the viewers eyes to dart all over the place. Each block is gorgeous in its own right, so putting them into one cohesive design will be challenging - at least it would be to me! The colors look wonderful together. I'm wondering whether you'll arrange them in color groupings, as you've shown them, or if different color combos will be scattered around the quilt. The block with the chunky blues really pop out, so maybe that's a focal point block? Or maybe you will make more blocks that are similar. I'm SO glad these will be your decisions and not mine!

  8. I'm really loving the skinny strip concept. Look forward to seeing what you end up as well how the other red version in the bee turns out.
