I'm already starting to grieve that we're so far along in the Summer Sampler. I'm loving my fabric pull (that Kona Limelight!) and every block has been a pleasure to sew.
This week. Ben Millett, who I 'met' in the Virtual Quilt Guild I joined in March 2020, designed the nostalgic "Melted Melamine." And boy do I have Melmac memories - ha.
The number of curves in
Ben's block was mind boggling, and I confess, it took me back a sec when I saw the orange peel template. Not sure I've ever actually sewn one! But now I've sewn several, and it wasn't that bad. Yeah, my block has some issues here and there, but I'm sticking with the old adage, "It'll never be noticed on a galloping horse."
Wow, now that you point it out, that is a lot of rather small curves. How many more weeks to go in the sampler?
ReplyDeleteGreat piecing and a unique design. The blocks in Summer Sampler are certainly keeping your piecing skills sharp! Good for you.
ReplyDeletelol- issues! I don't see any and i've always liked the phrase "it will quilt out" Great job on those curves!
ReplyDeletethis really is a striking block and you did a great job on those curves
ReplyDeleteThose are a lot of curves and they are small too, I think you did a wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty! The colors really compliment each other and I love the petal/leaf component.
