2026 Quilting Check In Q3

Unbelieveably, the year is three-quarters over, and it's time for the third quarterly check in with Melanie Meyer @mellmeyer. I'll keep things simple and report on my quilting finishes for the quarter.

July - September 2026 Quilts

Gotta say, I'm pretty happy with what I've been able to accomplish this last quarter. Five of the six quilts I made were made primarily from scraps, and that feels very good.

  • Overmuch - made of so many scrappy grab&piece blocks.

  • plethora - all the purple scraps were used in this one.

  • Elate - made during the Elate QAL with Carolyn Friedlander and her latest fabric line, Memento.

  • Slim Pickings - A bit of an interlude, which used the last of the warm solid scraps in the scrap basket.

Even with all that, I still have solid scraps gracing the bottom of the scrap basket. I'm kind of hoping to see the bottom before Q4 is over!

2026 Quilting Check In Q2

With June coming to a close in just a few days, it's time to think about the quarterly check in with Melanie Meyer @mellmeyer. Like Q1, I'll basically report on my quilting finishes.

April - June 2026 Quilts

Quantity-wise, I may have made less quilts this quarter, but I feel really good about what I accomplished.
  • Billows - made for the Pantone quilt challenge.

  • Vessel - made for the WELCA triennial gathering quilt challenge. It was accepted as a finalist, and will be on display at the gathering in July, and auctioned off for charity.

  • Banded - began during the final weeks of the 100 Day Project.

  • Bonkers - my first controlled crazy quilt, and I'm pretty sure it won't be my last.

So that's it for Q2 of 2026. I'm debating what quilt to start on next. Love when it can be pretty much anything I want!

2026 Quilting Check In Q1

If you haven't already heard, Melanie Meyer @mellmeyer has taken over the quarterly quilting goal check-in link up party previously posted by Yvonne Fuchs @quiltingjetgirl. I plan to keep checking in quarterly, but in a simpler format than years past. Melanie suggested reflecting on our Q1 2026 quilting progress, so I'll keep it to that.

January – March 2026 Quilts

It's actually been a pretty productive quarter, which is great. For one, I participated in several groups and workshops that resulted in quilts in a variety of sizes.

Happily, I finished the 2025 Seattle MQG BOM with the help of longarm quilter Dionne Hersch @dinglebobbins. That sure felt good!

And I made a wall hanging for our son to (hopefully) hang in his office.

Finally, I made a scrappy quilt, my first quilt finish for the 100 Day Project/AKA 100 Days of Scraps.

Going into Q2 of the year, I'll continue working on my Pantone Quilt Challenge project, and once that's done I have another quilt challenge I want to make a quilt for. There's also the current Seattle MQG BOM to keep up with and I suppose I should start another scrappy quilt for my 100 Days of Scraps. So plenty to keep me going. One day at a time.
