So I started with a little skirt pattern by make it & love it.

I really wanted to use the I Heart Cute Bots by Rashida Coleman-Hale that I had in my stash, but unfortunately didn't have quite enough for all three tiers.
So I made each tier of the skirt different, pairing the robots with some Kona School Bus and Bright Pink.
It's not quite what I had in mind when I came up with the idea, but it was fun, and the robots are super cute. I'll try again one of these days.
Another thing that took me back in time was making 'Honeybees' for grandgirl's 2nd birthday party today. These were one of her mama's very favorites when she was a child, so it was extra fun making them for my girl's little girl. I'll share the recipe in case you have a little one who might enjoy them too . . .
Honeybees
1/2 C peanut butter
1 Tb. honey
1/3 C nonfat dry milk powder
2 Tb. sesame seed
2 Tb. toasted wheat germ
unsweetened cocoa powder
sliced almonds
In mixing bowl, use wooden spoon to mix the peanut better and honey. Stir in dry milk powder, sesame seed, and wheat germ till well mixed.
Lay waxed paper on a baking sheet. Using a teaspoon at a time, shape the peanut butter mixture into ovals to look like bees. Put on the baking sheet. Dip a toothpick in cocoa powder, then press gently across top of bees to make stripes. Stick in almonds for wings. Chill in the refrigerator 30 minutes. Makes 28.
I've lusted after Rashida's Cute Bots for a while now - both the pink AND the blue version - it's on my Must Have list :D Your skirt is adorable - your GD will love it! I remember waste canvas - I used to use it to embellish baby bibs!
