Well, I survived my first round as a bee caretaker for the 4x5 Modern Quilt Bee, and have 6 lovely, modern gray/orange/white blocks to show for it, not to mention some new friends around the world. Below are all the blocks I've gotten in my three rounds with this bee. I've found it to be a really fun experience, I've tried new blocks I probably wouldn't have tried otherwise, and made blocks in such an interesting variety of color schemes for my hive-mates.
I haven't heard when the next round starts up, but when it does, I'm ready with a new palette and a new mosaic - rainbow!

ReplyDeleteThey all look great! I really like the combo of the gray and orange!
ReplyDeleteLove all those blocks so far, looking forward to seeing what you get in the next round :o)
ReplyDeleteA bee block collection enough to make a quilt, great! I usually change my mind and my colors every couple of rounds so I end up with a bucket full of parts and no top LOL. Your hive is going to love rainbow, I know I've enjoyed making blocks in those colors and you have to worry less about matching to shade.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, all your blocks look wonderful. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteLove the orange white and grey, Debbie! I am participating in my first bee right now and I chose rainbowy bright colors, and have received two blocks so far. They are so much fun! Your mosaic is yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange/grey, but I like the rainbow mosaic even better!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Debbie, I LOVE your color scheme and those modern blocks! Stunning!!
ReplyDeleteI thought I saw a sign up already Debbie but perhaps I`m imagining it. I loved the round I did with you and Leanne was caretaker but I`ve been in a very quiet hive this time and have decided to stay out a quarter. Your blocks are great!
ReplyDeleteI love all those blocks, they are going to make a great quilt. I am in for one more round too but I am keeping my palette so I have enough blocks for one great big quilt.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blocks, they will make such a cool quilt.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I just joined one bee block this April and other then my life being super busy, I had a good time. I did have a little bit of a hard time finding inspiration because I just didn't know what I wanted. I realize now that I need to join with a plan! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the orange and gray combo. And this post couldn't have come at a better time for me. I had a fail in my attempt to make blocks for my Nubees group this month and your post gave me all kinds of inspiration for what to make instead! :)
