So I showed you my 18 blocks from the 4x5 modern Quilt Bee last week {
here}, and the big decision is - now what? I'm thinking since the blocks have a variety of background colors, it might be nice to piece them with a different solid sashing/border to tie them all together. So here's some options I'm thinking about, testing colors with three sample blocks . . .
Kona Tangerine
Kona School Bus
Kona Orange
Kona Charcoal
Kona Pepper
Kona Tomato/Red (tweaked with photo editor)
Black (tweaked with photo editor)
I sure would like to know what you think!
Ooooh, school bus for me!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Love school bus. Or charcoal.
ReplyDeleteI think Tangerine or Charcoal are my personal faves, but I really think each of them work nicely. Such awesome blocks you've gotten!
ReplyDeleteCharcoal, pepper or school bus for me
ReplyDeleteLove the charcoal, it makes the orange in the blocks really pop!
ReplyDeleteKona Charcoal definately
ReplyDeleteKona Charcoal works for me:-)
ReplyDeleteTangerine! Wow!
ReplyDeleteSchool bus for me
ReplyDeleteCharcoal!
ReplyDeletetangerine or school bus - definitely out of my comfort zone but they look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI like Tangerine for pulling pops of color from the blocks; and Black for the high contrast. Your quilt is going to be amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a really nice quilt. I like the tangerine and the pepper or charcoal the best but truly each of these works nicely.
ReplyDeleteOoh I like School Bus or Pepper!
ReplyDeleteThey sure do pop on the charcoal. Confused yet?
ReplyDeleteReading everyone else seems like most like the charcoal and I was liking the pepper. So I had to go back and see why. I don't know if its my computer but I think the pepper makes the contrast show just a little more...interesting. You have a hard choice and I'm glad it's yours! So glad it's individual but it will be beautiful, yours always are!
ReplyDeletei like tangerine for a bright quilt and pepper for a sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteI would pick the Kona Tangerine. Charcoal is great too, but I think that in a couple of years we all think 'what were we thinking with all the dark grey?' and orange is always a fun color :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the Kona school bus or the Kona orange.
ReplyDeleteI would say tangerine or charcoal with school bus and orange not far behind...tough choice -- these look great with everything!
ReplyDeleteI like Charcoal, Pepper and School bus.
ReplyDeleteA call-in from my mom - she likes Tangerine or Pepper! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOoh, I really like the tangerine or charcoal. Any of them would be great choices though. What a fun quilt this will be!
ReplyDeleteMy vote goes for School Bus (of course...) or charcoal. Honestly, the only one I wasn't fond of was the tomato. Have fun choosing!
ReplyDeleteMy 2 favs are tangerine and charcoal!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say charcoal or pepper, but I think they would all look good - depending on what you were going for with the background.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, I would pick School Bus or Tangerine!
ReplyDeleteI love them on the charcoal or pepper!
ReplyDeleteCharcoal for me please. This is going to be wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteSchool bus or charcoal - can't wait to see this come together!
ReplyDeleteAll of them will work, but if we're voting, I'll cast my ballot for charcoal! It's going to look great no matter what you decide.
ReplyDeleteSchool Bus or Charcoal but I am partial to Charcoal!
ReplyDeleteTangerine or charcoal.
ReplyDeleteNot easy! But I would prefere the Tangerine or Pepper..... School Bus and Orange are to soft...
ReplyDeleteScholl bus is my favourite and then one of the darker greys.
ReplyDeleteschool bus (which I LOVE) or pepper (looks very striking)!
ReplyDeleteYou are one busy woman! I think I'm going to go with the Kona Charcoal. I love how the orange doesn't fade back into it. Really great job Debbie. I can't wait to meet you at The Sewing Summit and the Color Wheel Charm Swap is going to be so much fun!!
