Oh, a bib in the shape of an apple.
Which reminds me of a heart.
Patchwork sounds perfect for a heart.
Dig, dig through scrap bin.
Oh, here's some Minny Muu scraps!
Love them, but they're not big enough for the patchwork I had in mind.
Grab Quilting Modern and start thumbing through.
Stitch and flip sounds fun!
Hmm. I definitely feel like using some Essex.
Thumb through Essex stack and check them out with the Minny Muu.
Settle on hand dyed denim.
Start stitching and flipping . . .
Ok, so you kind of see how it went, don't you? Please tell me your process is equally random at times! I really loved Ayumi's yum-yum apple bib, and there are some darling ones showing up in the flickr group! It's just not where my journey took me this week . . .
Linking up with Finish It Up Friday.
Fabulous - I love your version!
ReplyDeleteAh, it's a bib!!! (Saw it on IG and did wonder!) LOL! This is perfectly fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! I love the patchwork and heart idea! Sigh...You're so creative Debbie!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE hearing about people's processes - I totally do this, too. Such a pretty bib and so nice to hear its journey to birth.
ReplyDeleteamazing!! such great fabrics and a sweet heart! shame to get food on it!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, you nailed my creative thought process to a T! I love your little heart bib.
ReplyDeleteSew cute! I love the block you used.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the design process is random like that, isn't?
ReplyDeleteLove what you created - the colors, the design - beautiful!
Love your take on this project! It is really fun to get inspiration from the original and make it your own :)
ReplyDeleteThe patchwork with tiny pieces is adorable!
Adorable! My thought process works the same way most of the time. It's one of the reasons why I have so many projects going at once. I sometimes have trouble staying focused on one thing long enough to see it through. Not because I lose interest, but because I get a new idea and feel compelled to go with it.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful Debbie! Great idea for something bigger, too! x Teje
ReplyDeleteLOVE! It's so great Debbie.
ReplyDeleteI do love the "make it your own" feel of the SAL. Such a cute non-apple. Hoping to whip out a bib this weekend and who knows what it'll be.
ReplyDeleteLove it, such a great idea and so unique and pretty! Great use of scraps for sure!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Those bright colors really pop against the background.
ReplyDeleteYour post was like a conversation with a good friend. You start out talking about one thing and end up three topics later (totally unrelated but completely connected) talking about another and yet it was so satisfactory!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
I love how your mind works.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! What a wonderful process you went through. Loved the finished bib.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Love the process you went through, and really love the finished bib.
ReplyDeleteI love it! And your process was hilarious. :D
ReplyDeleteAs I read on another post today, Zakka is about about the little touches, and this has little touches in abundance, love it!
ReplyDeleteI like where your journey took you!
ReplyDeleteWow,Deb! How fabulous is that bib! I'd happily wear it...:-)
ReplyDeleteLove your little bib! AND love the thought process-- I can totally relate-I just always teeter back and forth, do I make it like it's shown or do what I want?? You inspire me to venture forward with what I want more often! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo fun. Love your little bib.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I also take a similar walk through a project. I often have a running conversation with myself about fabrics and projects as I go through the day. I love the stitch and flip you chose and how the heart turned out. Great job!
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteI wish my process went more like your at times. Turned out lovely.
ReplyDeleteThis is very cute! I love your process.
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your random process story haha. It definitely makes me feel more relieved in my own similar process :) Sometimes the best finishes are when you just let things follow their own path. Loved this project!
ReplyDeleteThat's one fancy bib! Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat's great is this heart could hang on your wall and no one would guess it was supposed to be a bib!
