24 in 2014

Quilt finishes of any size were included in this year's mosaic, and right off, I'm surprised to see so much color! Probably what makes me happiest is noting that at least half of this year's quilts are of my own design.

Click on the quilt names listed below the mosaic to see their reveal posts if you want to read more about any particular one. Just for fun, I'll point out a few key tidbits:
  1. most repeated design - the Postcard Quilt (#4, 11, & 13)
  2. biggest risk taken - cutting my quilt top in half to finish Striped Strip (#12)
  3. longest to make - three blocks/week for nearly 8 months for Unlocked (#23)
  4. showing off - several have been shown publicly (#1, 6, 16, 17)
So that wraps up 2014 quilt-wise! I can't help but smile as I glance through these photos, recalling some of the blended emotions that went into the sewing of these quilts. And of course there's a sense of wonder at what could possible come next . . .

    It still gives me agita when you say "cut my quilt in half" even though I know how it turned out! Such a risk but great results!

    Wonderful display of quilts. Oh...your biggest risk is so why I love that quilt so much. I love the black and white stripe through the middle.

    I have seen your ruby red quilt around a lot too and its a great one to show off :-)

    so much fabulousness (is that a word?) in that mosaic! One of my teen sewing students was at my house today & spotted my postcard quilt, fell in love with it & headed straight to my stash to pull fabrics for her own! That pattern is a win!

    I swear, young lady, that you never sleep! How do you manage to do so much - work, be everywhere in social media, and sew... and sew, and sew?! I'm tired just looking at that collage! You're amazing. And I'm happy for you to have turned "half designer." It's something I strive for too. I'd like to say, "Keep up the great work," but I'm afraid I'll be reminding you to "burn out!"
