My foodie posts may not be everyone's cup of tea, and I totally get that. So feel free to peruse or move on as I report in on the last several months of Rainy Day Bites Cookbook Club. I'm actually heading out on vacation in the morning, so hopefully I'll be able to post a bit on IG. But I'll be back posting about quilting and sewing before you know it.
Note that I linked to each IG post, in case you wanted to read what I wrote about each recipe.

This quarter had several new-to-me ingredients. I learned about ube - purple yam from the Philippines; and pandan, made from leaves of a tropical plant. Probably my absolute favorite discovery was tres leche, which I's heard of but never had. Now I have the recipe to make it myself. Remember, anyone can join the club. Just follow @rainydaybites to see what we're cooking each month!
I always enjoy your foodie posts! What a fun variety of recipes you've tried. Thanks for sharing your favorite of all of them, too. Enjoy your vacation!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering! Falafel and pork shoulder! And baklava... open a restaurant Debbie.....
ReplyDeleteLove browsing your food photos! So many of these different foods look like things I'd enjoy eating. Of course, I'm mostly admiring the sweets - custard cake, tiramisu, baklava. Oh my but I'm impressed by your cooking skills. Leave it to our good God to dole out lavish gifts of quiltmaking and cooking. You've got them both!
ReplyDeleteI love that you include gaza kitchen! As an Israeli Jew I know that so much of the reason my family feels okay doing such violence to our Gazan neighbors, is a campaign of dehumanization - not seeing them as fully human. Sharing food is such a good way of sharing humanity. And thanks for the reminder to call my reps in the US as well to remind them, every day, that this is an awful use of our tax dollars. Also how can I get some baklava in my face immediately?!
ReplyDeleteI loved that Gaza Kitchen was included in our club as well. And I agree...sharing food is a great way of sharing humanity, as we all need to do. I so wish I could pop over and deliver some baklava. Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughtful comment.
