Heading to QuiltCon

Though 5/7 of my QuiltCon 2022 quilt entries were not accepted, I'm pleased that two were accepted! One is Redwork, my response to the Quilt Improv Studio Monochrome Dreams Challenge earlier this year. It will show in the small quilts category.

And then there's Rings, a Bee Sewcial finish from 2020. Rings actually showed in the virtual QuiltCon Together earlier this year, and thus was eligible to be entered again in next year's live show. My beemates Karen/capitolaquilter, M-R/quiltmatters, Leanne/shecanquilt, Stephanie/spontaneousthreads, Ken/thekinglacker, Felicity/felicityquilts, and Marci/marci_girl all improvisationally pieced two blocks each for the quilt, then I also made two, and then finished the quilt from there. It, of course, is in the group quilt category, and I'm happy that this one can be shared.

There was a record number of entries this year (over 2000!), so it's not lost on me how fortunate I am that a couple of mine will be included. I trust it'll be a fantastic show, as always.

  1. Congratulations, two excellent quilts!
And over 2000 entries, yes, that says a lot that your two were excepted.
Wishing you good luck and it will be fun to look through all the other entries, I'll spread that over a couple of days I think.
